The CURED mind

James 4:1

King James Version

4 From whence come wars and fightings among you?

come they not hence, even of your lusts

that war in your members?

What does it mean to be "cured"?

What would we be "cured" from?

Because this blog is on the "sound mind", we focus on that.

But there's something that's "eating" people up.

Call it a "plague", if you will.

SPIRIT put that word in my mind.

Merriam-Webster defines "plague" in the most interesting way:

: a disastrous evil or affliction

: an epidemic disease causing a high rate of mortality

: a cause of irritation

What is this "plague" that plagues us all?

Many doctors agree it causes diseases.

Many people complain about it.

Many people suffer from it.

The "plague" that affects us all?

STRESS.

Simply defined, stress is anything that eats us up.

Stuff what being in the world gives us.

Stuff we allow the world to give us.

Of course, the world gives us help.

Such as the THREE P's:

Psychology.

Psychiatry.

Philosophy.

Psychology is the "study of mind and behavior".

Psychiatry is the "medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of deleterious mental conditions".

Philosophy is a "systematic study of general and fundamental questions concerning topics like existence, reason, knowledge, value, mind, and language".

Now, we look to their history.

On psychology:

"The ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece, China, India, and Persia all engaged in the philosophical study of psychology. In Ancient Egypt the Ebers Papyrus mentioned depression and thought disorders.[17] Historians note that Greek philosophers, including Thales, Plato, and Aristotle (especially in his De Anima treatise),[18] addressed the workings of the mind.[19] As early as the 4th century BC, the Greek physician Hippocrates theorized that mental disorders had physical rather than supernatural causes.[20] In 387 BCE, Plato suggested that the brain is where mental processes take place, and in 335 BCE Aristotle suggested that it was the heart."

On psychiatry:

"The earliest known texts on mental disorders are from ancient India and include the Ayurvedic text, Charaka Samhita.[97][98] The first hospitals for curing mental illness were established in India during the 3rd century BCE.[99]

Greek philosophers, including Thales, Plato, and Aristotle (especially in his De Anima treatise), also addressed the workings of the mind. As early as the 4th century BC, the Greek physician Hippocrates theorized that mental disorders had physical rather than supernatural causes. In 387 BCE, Plato suggested that the brain is where mental processes take place. In 4th to 5th century B.C. Greece, Hippocrates wrote that he visited Democritus and found him in his garden cutting open animals. Democritus explained that he was attempting to discover the cause of madness and melancholy. Hippocrates praised his work. Democritus had with him a book on madness and melancholy.[100] During the 5th century BCE, mental disorders, especially those with psychotic traits, were considered supernatural in origin,[101] a view which existed throughout ancient Greece and Rome,[101] as well as Egyptian regions.[102][page needed] Alcmaeon, believed the brain, not the heart, was the "organ of thought". He tracked the ascending sensory nerves from the body to the brain, theorizing that mental activity originated in the CNS and that the cause of mental illness resided within the brain. He applied this understanding to classify mental diseases and treatments.[17][103] Religious leaders often turned to versions of exorcism to treat mental disorders often utilizing methods that many consider to be cruel or barbaric methods. Trepanning was one of these methods used throughout history."

On philosophy:

"The history of philosophy is primarily concerned with theories based on rational inquiry and argumentation; some historians understand it in a looser sense that includes myths, religious teachings, and proverbial lore.[40]

Influential traditions in the history of philosophy include Western, Arabic–Persian, Indian, and Chinese philosophy. Other philosophical traditions are Japanese philosophy, Latin American philosophy, and African philosophy."

From those sets of info, we gather the world's help sprung from these ancient societies:

Egypt, Greece, China, India, and Persia

West, Arab–Persia

Japan, Latin America, and Africa

Notice anything?

Those societies offer many gods.

How, then, can we be well?

When we don't honor the ONLY GOD:

Exodus 20:1-5

King James Version

20 And God spake all these words,

saying,

2 I am the Lord thy God,

which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt,

out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image,

or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above,

or that is in the earth beneath,

or that is in the water under the earth.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them,

nor serve them:

for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God,

visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children

unto the third and fourth generation

of them that hate me;

Exodus 3:6

King James Version

6 Moreover he said,

I am the God of thy father,

the God of Abraham,

the God of Isaac,

and the God of Jacob.

And Moses hid his face;

for he was afraid to look upon God.

Exodus 3:14

King James Version

14 And God said unto Moses,

I Am That I Am:

and he said,

Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,

I Am hath sent me unto you.

Exodus 3:15

King James Version

15 And God said moreover unto Moses,

Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel,

the Lord God of your fathers,

the God of Abraham,

the God of Isaac,

and the God of Jacob,

hath sent me unto you:

this is my name for ever,

and this is my memorial

unto all generations.

Matthew 22:32

King James Version

32 I am the God of Abraham,

and the God of Isaac,

and the God of Jacob?

God is not the God of the dead,

but of the living.

There is only ONE CURE for ALL our ills.

JESUS, Son of GOD.

Sent, to save us all.

John 10:10

King James Version

10 The thief cometh not,

but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:

I am come that they might have life,

and that they might have it more abundantly.

Who are "thieves"?

John 10:1

King James Version

10 Verily, verily, I say unto you,

He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold,

but climbeth up some other way,

the same is a thief and a robber.

John 10:7-8

King James Version

7 Then said Jesus unto them again,

Verily, verily, I say unto you,

I am the door of the sheep.

8 All that ever came before me

are thieves and robbers:

but the sheep did not hear them.

Let us not be thieves.

Or if we have unknowingly become thieves, it's now time to stop all that "thievery".

In these last days, it's time to follow JESUS.

John 10:16

King James Version

16 And other sheep I have,

which are not of this fold:

them also I must bring,

and they shall hear my voice;

and there shall be one fold,

and one shepherd.

We have all been warned about the ways of the world:

Romans 12:2

King James Version

2 And be not conformed to this world:

but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that ye may prove what is that good,

and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Colossians 2:8

King James Version

8 Beware lest any man spoil you

through philosophy and vain deceit,

after the tradition of men,

after the rudiments of the world,

and not after Christ.

Colossians 3:1-2

King James Version

3 If ye then be risen with Christ,

seek those things which are above,

where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above,

not on things on the earth.

If the world really knew the "cure" to all our ills, it won't present too many cures.

As it is, it has a science, and system, for everything.

Depending on your beliefs, and inclinations.

A panacea for this, a panacea for that.

Which, happens to be another god.

Do you now see Satan's trap, in all these?

For a true born again, the ONLY ANSWER is JESUS.

The MAGNIFICENT Healer.

In Him, is our completeness.

Colossians 2:9-10

King James Version

9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

10 And ye are complete in him,

which is the head of all principality and power:

In Him, we find true healing.

Matthew 9:12

King James Version

12 But when Jesus heard that,

he said unto them,

They that be whole need not a physician,

but they that are sick.

In Him, we receive eternal life.

John 3:16-17

King James Version

16 For God so loved the world,

that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,

but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world

to condemn the world;

but that the world through him

might be saved.

If you're "lost", that's okay.

JESUS came for you.

For each one of us.

Loving us all.

Luke 19:10

King James Version

10 For the Son of man is come

to seek and to save

that which was lost.

JESUS is the ONLY WAY we can all get cured.

Totally, completely, spiritually.

From ALL ills.

Which sin has brought upon us.

Only through JESUS can we have PEACE.

JESUS is our ONLY HOPE.
